Harnesses ordered and received. Yet to be fitted though due to indecision about the seats.
The front cycle guards are now fully fitted and look quite good with the small titanfast trim around the edges. May remove them for one last time to give them a bead of sealant around the joins and a coat of paint to prevent stone chips.
Trim arrived from woolies and the scuttle and nosecone have been fitted in their final positions allowing me to get the fit for the bonnet correct. The bonnet has been duly sanded down enough to let it sit correctly and appears to have quite good lines. The clips have been positioned and the bonnet drilled for the little stainless clips. Unfortunately I couldn't go any further with the bonnet as these clips require long reach rivets to attach them (due to the thickness of the bonnet grp).
Work then continued on the rear panel. Sealed with an appropriate amount of sealant, the rear panel was riveted in its final position. In a true cascade fashion, the rear wings could now be trimmed to fit the car. Dremel working overtime, both rear wings were cut to allow them to slot over the chassis rails. They do look good, if I say so myself. Room is constricted in the garage now so, despite having all the fittings, I have not fitted them permanently.
The cooling system is now complete. There was always going to be some compromise in the hose size as the three connections were 6mm, 8mm & 10mm. In the end, an 8mm hose system was devised with suitable reductions for the 6mm and a tight fit on the 10mm.
There's more news in that MK engineering have developed a double bubble aeroscreen similar to that offered by Westfield. looking at the picture, I think the even better news is that it looks better and is a quarter of the price!
Along with this, MK also do a rather fetching bonnet scoop that I am reliably informed will fit an ST.
