Another day with no work on the car. Ordered the remaining electrical parts from VWP though. I did a price check on the clutch cable, which comes in at almost the same price as MNR can do it for :-((
I also took the PX600 base plate back to NFS with the carb trumpets to show them the problem. A quick phone call to pipercross and a blank baseplate is winging its way to me (via the shop). Almost took a trip to Halfords today to spend my £30 vouchers but it was too hot today. I'm hoping to get stonechip paint, brushable seam sealer and brake fluid. I want to see how leaky my brake system is :-) Once the rear pads have been exercised with the foot pedal, I can cut the handbrake cable to length and make sure that mechanism works as well. It should work OK and the mechanism will be hidden underneath the edge of the passenger seat.
Tomorrow I hope to have a go at the lighting circuit. I must say it's the least favourite of the jobs on the todo list. Don't know why, as I never have any problems with electrics (none that aren't self induced). Still, I'll have to bit the bullet and get it done. Extra circuits to be added are for the brake fail, brake light switch and the horn.
