
Stripped the clutch down today. No problem with the actual clutch itself - which is good news. The problem seems to be on the end of the clutch release arm. It should have a nice cam shape to it which pulls the centre post of the clutch disengaging it. My cam shape is completely trout. You can see by the photo how bad it is. No wonder it wouldn't disengage the clutch. I had a look on the internet and it seems to be quite a common problem - there's probably no point getting a second hand one, so it looks like a trip to Paisley Kawasaki is in order. This time I'll ring first and order up the part...
In the meantime, with the front of the car 2 foot in the air it would have been foolhardy to start fitting the seats etc. so I decided to take some ABS sheet back to the house to fettle into a column shroud cover and to drill out the hole for the gear lever in the tunnel top. Only managed to drill the hole for the gear stick...
