Had a delivery of a set of 6 Carling Contura II switches for my new switch pod. Having decided to redo the dash and steering column, these are the best that I can find. I don't like the look of the popular savage switches and wanted something quite robust.
The Contura switches are fitted as standard in JCBs and are fully IP67 sealed so they should stand up to a little harsh weather.
For neatness I have also purchased the backplane wiring connectors and a switch gang assembly to tidy the appearance up (better to drill one aperture thn try to line up six separate holes).
On a test bench I have tried the switches out and confirmed in my mind that they work in the manner that was described in the spec sheet. The whole caboodle came to £58 which was very good value - available from www.mudstuff.co.uk Awaiting half of the electronic order from Maplins I have still to order the rest of the parts from RS components. School holidays and Christmas rapidly approaching, I may not have time to get the order in.
