Whilst doing some dash wiring, I decided to take the opportunity to correct a couple of small discrepancies from the old wiring. The problem was that the ignition key had to be made in order for the hazards or hi-beam flash to work. This was because the old ignition key was effectively being used as a power isolator, the actual ignition was switched by the dash mounted toggle switch. I don't think this is how it is supposed to work so, in the new system, both these functions are now fed from (fused) permanent lives. Sorted!
