Something that became quickly apparent whilst re-running the rear loom was that in the alternative position, it would be far too short, necessitating extending each of the 7 wires. Now, do I merely extend these wires or replace them in their entirety?
After a quick deliberation, I decided to replace the main loom run from front to rear in one piece of cable. The major factor was that if I extended the existing cabling, the join would be under the car (in the tunnel) in a harsh environment. The new wire will run from the front tunnel top panel through the tunnel to the rear “boot” space with breakout boxes at either end.
