Was driving back from work and the offside cycle wing ripped itself off at about 45mph. It first appeared to be wobbling and then it peeled back as soon as the air flow took it. It happened so quickly I didn’t have time to react to prevent it coming completely off and flying up into the air. Thanks to the drivers that stopped and let me run back and retrieve it, apologies for the crazy man running in the road!
Anyhow the failure is typical; right at the point of the greatest curvature which is the focused weak point.
