Very windy weather over this weekend. Cover was billowing and despite my best attempts it ended up with a tear in it. A quick trip to Halfords provided two replacements (different designs to hedge my bets) and the car is now adequately covered again. Need to rebuild the steering column and start wiring up the dash (what there is of it anyway). Those jobs can be done away from the car. Actually on the car I should start by wiring in the battery cables. Purely coincidentally, the trip to Halfords also provided a set of ratchet spanners (well, Christmas is coming!)
I have had another change of heart with the ford ignition switch and now intend to incorporate it into the ignition circuit. It will only effectively act as a single throw switch as the aircraft snap switch and push button starter are also in circuit. The column ignition switch merely acts a security measure. Note to self: could be a good idea to get a multimeter before attempting to wire the car ;-)
