Fitted the bonnet catches today. The original intention was to mount the bonnet catches through the bonnet with a long rivet and a washer on the back to spread the load. A good idea but the brackets are so small; there was no room to fit the washers. However, as the rivets I bought were longer than standard, after fixing them there was sufficient residue on the inside of the bonnet to spread the load (sort of). The rest of the bracket fitment went swimmingly and they all attach the bonnet with equal tension. Finally something went without a hitch (apart from crouching down on a thistle). Found a good supplier of a clutch cable, specially made for bike engined cars. Will order one up tomorrow.
