Fitted the rear shocks and bracketry to the Landrover today. Quite a cold and windy day so there were regular breaks for coffee to warm myself up. The Landrover is just about ready for the MOT now, just need to change the plugs and air filter (the lambda sensor is in reserve as I can't get the old one out).
Also removed the alternator from the volvo today. Stripped it down in the back of the Landrover and found that the copper link cable on one of the brushes on the regulator has broken. This would prevent the voltage coming off the rotor (as the brush does not contact the commutator). A quick search on ebay and I managed to locate a completely new unit for £12.50 Job done! With a replacement digital camera to take the pictures for ebay, that'll be the Volvo for sale.
Waiting to see what the MOT reveals for the discovery before I decide its fate...
Despite all this automotive work, the Locost remains untouched :-((((
